Ingredients
-
1 pint (about 16) fresh strawberries, washed and dried completely
-
6 oz (170 g) high-quality milk chocolate, finely chopped
-
1 teaspoon coconut oil or butter (optional, for a smoother texture)
-
½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
-
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed
-
¼ cup (60 ml) heavy cream
For the Chocolate-Covered Strawberries
For the Salted Caramel Drizzle
¼ teaspoon sea salt (plus extra for garnish)
Directions
Prepare the Strawberries
Wash and thoroughly dry the strawberries—moisture prevents the chocolate from sticking.
Melt the Milk Chocolate
In a heatproof bowl, melt the chopped milk chocolate over a double boiler or microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth.
Stir in coconut oil or butter (optional) for a shinier finish.
Dip the Strawberries
Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip into the melted milk chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.
Place dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Let them set at room temperature or in the fridge for 15 minutes.
Make the Salted Caramel Drizzle
In a small saucepan, heat sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it melts into a deep golden caramel.
Carefully add butter, stirring until melted.
Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking, being cautious as it may bubble.
Stir in sea salt and remove from heat. Let cool for 5 minutes before drizzling.
Decorate & Serve
Drizzle the salted caramel over the chocolate-covered strawberries.
Sprinkle with a pinch of flaky sea salt for a gourmet touch.
Let them set for 10 minutes before serving.
